Energie Brandenburg emerged from the merger of EMB and SpreeGas within the GASAG Group, uniting the regional energy expertise of both brands under one roof. The company supplies Brandenburg with gas, electricity, and modern energy solutions, and stands for a sustainable, reliable, and service-oriented energy future.
For the digital launch of the new brand, the existing GASAG CMS setup using FirstSpirit and the technical framework conditions had to be precisely taken into account. Based on the corporate design manual, a functional, responsive, and clearly differentiated online design was to be created that enables distinct brand differentiation despite technical dependencies. The challenge was to make as few adjustments as possible to existing templates while creating a consistent, modern brand image. In addition to defining core UX/UI guidelines, the scope included developing a hero-driven page entry, a brand-specific key visual, and a modular, accessible teaser system for promotions, bonuses, and important notices. At the same time, editorial management had to remain straightforward, and the entire process had to be delivered within a tight three-month timeframe to ensure the relaunch launched on schedule.

To create a consistent user experience, the corporate design was transformed into a fully-fledged digital system. Existing specifications were translated into web-compatible parameters: color spaces, typography, contrasts, and interaction patterns were redefined and transferred into a responsive grid and layout system. In parallel, a renewed visual language and contemporary key visual were created that can be flexibly integrated both in the hero area and within a newly developed paragraph template. The goal was to create a clear, modern, and recognizable look & feel that makes the brand's values – regionality, reliability, modernity, and future orientation – visible in the digital space.

The technical implementation followed a minimal intervention strategy: as few changes as possible to the existing CMS framework, while still achieving significant visual modernization. For marketing campaigns, a new teaser system was created that is responsive, flexibly deployable, and fully accessible – a component that can be easily managed editorially and positions important notices and campaign messages prominently yet unobtrusively. Through clear prioritization of all measures, close coordination within the project team, and efficient testing cycles, the entire relaunch was delivered within just three months – including concept, design, technical adjustments, and quality assurance.

Energie Brandenburg went live with its new brand presence and modernized website right on schedule – synchronized with the PR and marketing campaign. Through targeted reuse of existing technical structures, the relaunch was delivered with minimal effort, without compromising brand impact or UX. The digital brand identity now presents Energie Brandenburg as a modern, transparent, and service-oriented energy brand. Thanks to the newly developed design and functional modules, editorial teams benefit from high flexibility, for example when implementing promotions, offer pages, or notices. The accessible, scalable UX/UI components also create a stable foundation for future expansion stages and developments in the digital ecosystem.
