++++++++++++++++++++++ UPDATE ++++++++++++++++++++++
The general situation regarding the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and the resulting COVID-19 pandemic is changing rapidly from day to day both worldwide and in Germany. Even though our planned after-work event on 1 April 2020 in Hamburg is likely to have been more of a smaller-scale get-together, we still wanted to play our part in avoiding the unnecessary acceleration of this first wave of infection and have therefore decided to postpone the after-work event indefinitely.
For further details, please see the Xing event in the e-Spirit User Group.
++++++++++++++++++++++ UPDATE ++++++++++++++++++++++
Following the first regional after-work event in Stuttgart, held in February this year, interested users of the CMS are now warmly invited to attend the first after-work event for the e-Spirit User Group in northern Germany.
In a hands-on session lasting about 90 minutes, we will be taking a closer look at the topic of FirstSpirit in a Docker container. Alongside the creation of the corresponding Docker image, we’ll also be showing you how to set up a complex, local FirstSpirit development environment. The programme also features an introduction to our FirstSpirit Docker image build and we’ll be explaining how it can be used to event participants. The corresponding project will be published on GitHub after the event. While previous experience of Docker is useful for this session, it’s not essential, as we’ll be providing an overview of the most important Docker commands.
The event concludes with a round of refreshments that includes cold drinks and pizza, where we’ll have the opportunity to network and swap notes.
To participate in this hands-on session, you’ll need to bring your own computer with an installed Docker engine. Alternatively, help will also be on hand at the session to get your Docker instance installed. All of the other artifacts needed will be provided at the event.
